As July's Disability Pride month comes to an end, here's a reminder that the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office is prepared to assist all voters with their Express Vote technology. Read more and watch a demonstration in this Orlando Sentinel article.

Committee Updates

National Popular Vote Committee: During the opening for the LWVUS biennial convention, in June 2022, League President, Dr. Deborah Turner made an announcement that LWVUS would be expending effort and resources toward a Constitutional Amendment to Abolish the Electoral College. LWVFL took a leading role at the convention in expanding the LWVUS program by making a motion to pass the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC). We now have NPV as a national LWV priority, as stated in the US League’s 2022-2023 Program.

Transportation Committee: This November, Orange County voters will decide if they want a one-cent sales tax increase to fund transportation needs across the County. On April 26, 2022, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted 4-3 to put the transportation sales tax referendum on the fall ballot.
