Lee's transcript from media event:
Good morning, I am Lee RK, VP of the LWVOC. We are delighted to join the SOE, Glen Gilzean to celebrate 2 new early voting sites in areas where there is a need for better access to the polls.
It has been a privilege to work w/the SOE’s office through the years by assisting with staffing polling locations, & to help register eligible residents.
We also help voters update their info on file to make every voting experience a positive one.
For over a century, the League of Women Voters has stood firm in its mission to Empower Voters & Defend Democracy !
We are a grassroots, volunteer, nonpartisan organization working to protect & expand voting rights to ensure everyone is represented.
Our work is rooted in the belief that when voters are educated, they are empowered to make informed choices.
As a trusted organization for education and advocacy,1 of the key resources we offer in an election year is our award-winning on-line voter guide:
This site offers easy to use one-stop shopping for nonpartisan election information. It’s designed to help all voters in Orange County—in fact, voters across Florida & the United States— navigate the voting process.
Millions of people take advantage of Vote411.org. Available in both Spanish & English, you can learn about how & where to vote, what is on the ballot & where candidates stand on issues that matter most to U.
As we often say, “The purpose of Vote411.org is to meet the needs of voter, not the candidate.”
We strongly encourage anyone listening, if you have not already done so, to try it out.
Use Vote411.org & be Vote Ready!
To wrap it up, I leave you with this: the League of Women Voters stands resolutely with voters everywhere.
We remain committed to uplifting your voice, ensuring your right to vote is not just protected but celebrated.
Together, let’s strengthen our democracy— one informed voter at a time!
