From the comfort of your digital devices, take part with Leaguers nationwide, in conjunction with our National Convention, and send a message that we expect Congress to pass VRAA, the Voting Rights Advancement Act.
The Voting Rights advancement Act (VRAA) restores and modernizes the original protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA). The goal of the legislation is to combat the influx of discriminatory voting requirements that states have enacted that disproportionately prevent minorities, the elderly, and youth from voting.

AMENDMENT 4 UPDATE:
The LWVFL is sharing the good news that on May 24, 2020 a Federal court ruled most Floridians with felony convictions, who have completed incarceration and probation or parole, can now vote! Gov. DeSantis immediately filed for a stay, which was denied, and is now appealing to the 11th District Court of Appeals. In the meantime, details will be forthcoming about volunteering (from the safety of your home) for a phone bank opportunity to assist returning citizens with registering to vote.
| Don't run out of time! Visit Important Dates to learn more about 2020 Election deadlines. JULY 20 is last day to change party affiliation/register to vote in the AUG 18 Primary Election. The last day to request a VBM ballot is AUG 8.

Kick your celebration of the Centennial of women’s suffrage into high gear on Wednesday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. with an online preview of “The Vote,” the new PBS “American Experience” documentary about women’s decades-long battle for suffrage. Following a compelling 25-minute preview clip, our own Centennial chair Linda Chapin and state Rep. Geraldine Thompson will talk about the suffragists’ legacy and the continuing fight for votes for all!
The full documentary, which premieres July 6 and 7, 9-11 p.m. on WUCF, brings to life the movement’s unsung leaders, as well as the deep controversies over gender roles and race that divided Americans then — and continue to dominate political discourse today.
