The League of Women Voters of Orange County has a history of more than 80 years in this community as an activist, grassroots organization whose members believe citizens should play a critical role in advocacy.  We do not endorse or oppose political candidates or parties at any level of government.  Our advocacy positions are based on the merits of each issue, after careful study and consensus.

LEAGUE MEMBERS ONLY
We're excited to announce the next edition of our "Lunch & Learn" series! This week's webinar will feature an informational session on National Popular Vote.
The League of Women Voters of Florida believes it is time electors should be guided by the majority of Americans who agree on the person who should lead the nation.
A growing number of states are now passing legislation to instruct their electors to vote for the person who wins the national popular vote. More than 60 percent (172) of the 270 electoral votes needed to activate the national popular vote has been secured.
Join us this Friday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m. (ET) as we welcome Deb Mazzaferro to discuss this topic at length
Presentation: Every Vote Equal -- What is National Popular Vote? What is the NPV Interstate Compact? How can we support implementation?
Q&A Session with Deb Mazzaferro and Florida League President Cecile Scoon.

This month, March, marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Harriet Tubman, and it is fitting that the League of Women Voters of Orange County is shining a light on the contributions of women who were trailblazers in fight for women’s rights. This month, we will feature Ida B. Wells, Susan B. Anthony and Carrie Chapman Catt, three amazing women who helped pave the way for equal rights for women. If you have not already done so, you also have the opportunity to honor one of these inspiring women by choosing a special membership category named in their honor as a Warrior for Democracy. Today we feature Ida B. Wells, shown above.
