League Leaders
ANN HELLMUTH
When visiting our LWVOC homepage, you'll see her smile greeting you.  Her dedication to the League is legendary and if you're lucky, you'll snag a seat next to her at a League event, ensuring a lively conversation.
Until then, new and longtime members will enjoy Dean Johnson's introduction to our very own "Warrior for Democracy," Ann Hellmuth.
"I’ve known League stalwart Ann Hellmuth since the 1970s when she was covering Florida for the Associated Press (the first woman to cover a state news organization for AP)." Continue reading HERE.

Join us on October 21 at 1:00 p.m. (ET) as we learn more from three esteemed medical experts, Dr. Adriana Cantville, Kelly Flynn and Dr. Nancy Staats, on the facts on abortion in Florida.

This week's webinar will feature a program centered around abortion and reproductive rights. The League has supported freedom of choice since 1982 and denounces reproductive coercion in any form. The League believes the Supreme Court opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization is an affront to our values that support access to health care, reproductive rights, and individual liberties and privacy.

Warriors for Democracy
What person or group do you believe has been a Warrior for Democracy this past year? In a time when democracy is being challenged on many fronts, who has gone above and beyond to defend democracy in Orange County?

Our first honoree was then State Senator Geraldine Thompson for her challenge of the Governor's appointment of an unqualified candidate for the Florida Supreme Court. You now get a chance to select the next awardee!
Nominations extended til OCT 23.
