Ninth Circuit Judge Robert LeBlanc
The League thanks Ninth Circuit Judge Robert LeBlanc for organizing and moderating the May 11 Hot Topics program. The judge, a League member, was elected to the bench in 2006. From 2007-2013 he handled criminal assignments. In 2013 he was on Domestic violence assignment and from 2013 until the present time is in Family Division. 
 
 
Ninth Judicial Circuit Judge Don Myers
Ninth Judicial Circuit Judge Don Myers was elected to the bench in 2010. In January 2013 Judge Myers was assigned to Orange County, Circuit Criminal Division, presiding over felony criminal cases. He is currently assigned to the Circuit Civil Division in Orange County, Florida. Judge Myers is also the Administrative Judge for Appeals to the Circuit Court, and the Association. Administrative Judge for the Circuit Civil Divison.
 
Retired Judge A. Thomas Mihok
Retired Judge A. Thomas Mihok was appointed to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in 1995 by Gov. Lawton Chiles. Judge Mihok retired from the bench in 2015. He began his career in 1975 as an assistant U.S. attorney, later serving in private practice before starting his own firm in 1988.
 
Judge Donald A. Myers Jr. and Retired Judge A. Thomas Mihok will outline the processes for becoming a judge in Florida. Then teams of judges and lawyers will discuss the pros and cons of judicial elections versus gubernatorial appointment and the ethical issues each course may trigger.
