The DEIA Committee encourages League members to celebrate Haitian American Heritage Month this May!

We honor the rich culture, history, resilience, and contributions of Haitian Americans in Central Florida and across our nation. From art and music to food, language, entrepreneurship, education, and community leadership, Haitian culture continues to strengthen and inspire our communities every day.
There are many ways to learn about and experience Haitian culture:
- Supporting Haitian-owned restaurants and businesses
- Attending Haitian art exhibits
- Learning basic Haitian Creole phrases
- Hosting a Haitian food tasting
- Sharing Haitian history and culture on social media
- Participating in Haitian Flag Day events on May 18:
As we celebrate, let us also continue building welcoming spaces where immigrant families feel seen, valued, and respected. Together, we recognize the beauty of diversity and the power of community.
Happy Haitian American Heritage Month!
