 | The League of Women Voters of Orange County took part in the national League's "Unite and Rise--Day of Action" on August 8th. With an organized plan, approximately 75 volunteers including help from community partners, they reached a large number of voters in low turnout precincts with a message to vote and vote early! How did the day go?
- Teams of phone bankers completed 645 calls
- Volunteers knocked on doors for approximately 539 people
- "Vote early" signs and more were waved near the Kia Ctr.
- Over 6300 postcards were mailed (earlier completion)
- Social media videos of the events have over 3500 views

The LWVOC also took part in another nationally sponsored League effort partnering with the Southern Poverty Law Center and other organizations. Besides the panel, speakers included Leaguer Dr. LaVon Wright Bracy, US Rep. Maxwell Frost, poet Quincy Major, and a Columbian tribute dance troupe.
